Hello All,
Yesterday was one of the most satisfying days I have had in quite some time. With Big Sex and Abby as my guides, we decided to take on Torreys Peak located in the Front Range region of The Rocky Mountains near Denver. At 14,272FT, Torreys is the 11th highest summit in Colorado!
After leaving the house at 4AM, we made our way to the base camp of Torreys Peak . By 11AM, we made it to the summit! I was tired. Battled headaches and nose bleeds. But, I made it in one piece! The sense of accomplishment was incredible. The altitude sure was humbling. I feel like I am as fit as a fiddle, but it kicked my @ss nonetheless. The most amazing part of the day however was the fact that Big Sex carried his daughter on his back to the top of the mountain and back! They guy is an absolute beast. I was carrying my Camelbak and was hurting. He was carrying a human! Nothing this guy does surprises me. He was the best rower I ever rowed with in college. He is one of the toughest guys I know. AND, he is an amazing dad. The guy is incredible. Having said all that, I still hope little Mary Beth takes after her mom! Abby is the BEST and makes an incredible PB&J!
Thank you so much for taking me in the last few days and guiding me to one of the highest peaks in North America! I will never ever forget this experience!
